That’s where I’ve found myself lately, in what feels like the mundane days. Its not bad, just different from what I’ve been used to the last 7 months. Here ministry usually doesn’t start until mid morning, so mornings are slow and quiet which I have thoroughly enjoyed the longer not rushed time sitting with the Lord.  And we are on our own for two out of the three meals most days, to which we are given a weekly food allowance(by me, aka team treasurer. Haha). Which means cooking on our own and grocery shopping, and here that looks like walking down the street to the market that is full of fresh fruits and veggies that are super cheap!!(praise!! Cause I love me some fresh produce and also we’re living on a small budget). A run to the coffee shop a couple times a week to hop on wifi  to check in with people back home, a walk around town, and all the other day to day things.

Often times lately Ive thought “I don’t have any big and grand story of what God is doing this month” but then I was  reminded of a conversation I had a with a friend before leaving, she said “Remember to look for God in the small things not just the big things.” And I was also reminded that its okay to write and share about those mundane ordinary moments to  because I know many people back home are having those mundane ordinary moments just as I am currently.

Ive seen Him in the smile and wave of a little boy on the bus, Ive seen Him In the hospitality of the families of the church we’re working with, Ive seen him in the sun that peaks through the clouds every so often., and as He reveals himself to me through his Word each day, I see Him and his work in the lives of each one of my teammates. I see Him in the smiles and kindness of strangers. I could go on and on of the things, places, and people I’ve seen Him in, but I i’ll stop there for now.

So Friend,  be reminded to look for God in the small ordinary day to day things, you’ll find him there just as you’ll find Him in the big grand things.  He’s still working even when we don’t see it.

We are now officially into Month 8, woah!! We have just a couple weeks left with our host here in Lima and then we head to Cusco for a week of debrief and a week of worship and prayer as a squad before making our way to Africa!!

Prayer requests:

For debrief at the end of this month. That it would be restful and for smooth transitions onto new teams and  new roles.

We’re on the homestretch!! Please be praying that we would be in the moment, and continue to be intentional with those around us and with the time we have left.

Our upcoming long travel days as we make the transition to another continent! We will be spending the last three months in Africa!  Going to Eswatini, Lesotho, and South Africa!!

One more thing: While our major expenses like transportation, lodging and food budget have been covered in what we fundraise, I still have personal expenses  that I’ve had to pay for like personal care items(shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant,  laundry detergent, etc.) transportation on off days, snacks, coffee ;), an occasional tourist attraction, and a couple upcoming larger expenses like my flight home in December!! and an opportunity to go to Matchu Picchu before leaving Peru! If you’re interested in financially supporting me in any of these areas, I would be so eternally grateful! My Venmo is @Stephiane-Trausch or feel free to message me if you’d like to send it a different way.

As always thanks for following along on the journey! Leave a comment, as id love to hear from you!
