43 days living in a tent on the mountain side

No electricity and hardly any cell service

Too many pounds of corn tortillas eaten to count

Beautiful sunsets and sunrises

Livin in the clouds

Rainy days seemed  to last forever

Many days went without a shower, and when you did you never really felt clean anyhow so baby wipes would do

Granadilla mountain

A place where the people work hard, play hard, and love really well.

Catracho Missions, a team so hungry for the Lord, for His Word, and for the lost to get found. So passionate about discipleship and raising up pastors and leaders in their community.  A team full of young adults and teenagers. The gospel shared through sewing and cooking classes, Through a garden in the jungle, house visits, school, and church on Sunday mornings. And there is vision to do so much more.

Willing hands and hearts

Ministry on Granadilla mountain started about a year ago. With donated land and lumber from fallen trees from the hurricane the church building and training center/ministry housing started to be built. Across the mountain and through mud pits the lumber was retrieved, and the foundation was dug out of the mountainside.

Many days were long with lots of manual labor projects, though on the days it rained it was slow. Sabbath is scheduled into our weeks, a day to rest and recharge. Adventure days looked like taking quite the adventurous rides down the mountain into the city for some wifi connection at Dunkin, though our last week we made a trek to a super cool waterfall!

As we dug up tree stumps in the jungle and planted seeds in the garden, I thought about if there was any bad roots in my own life that I needed to dig up, and the seeds we’re planting in peoples lives,we might not see the fruit of it but that someone else may come along and water it.

We had several classes on apologetics while a small team from America was on the base for a week. It was super cool to learn from them!

The Lord taught me a lot about just sitting in His presence, learning to discern His voice from my own thoughts, to combat the lies of the enemy, and to step out in boldness.

Life on the mountain was sweet and hard.

Prayer requests:

•For safe travels as we travel by bus to our next country for the next month of ministry.

•For hearts to be open for what the Lord has.

Prayers against the attacks of the enemy

For squadmates funding to come in as they are still trying to raise support while on the      field.

Thanks for following along on my journey and what the Lord is doing around the world! Leave a comment, Id love to hear from you!

Steph

P.S. Fun fact: I am our squads Culture Coordinator, so I get to research all the culture things for each country and share it with the squad!
