THE GOD WHO SEES

He sees you when you’re having a good day

He sees you when you’re  having a hard day

He sees the person who feels unheard and the loner.

He sees the hurting and broken-hearted

He sees the one who seems to have it all together on the outside but deep down is really struggling.

He sees the Haitian man who left his family to come to the DR to try and find work, but is struggling too. Who was once in church, but stopped going.

He sees the Haitian family scared for their life.

He sees the Dominican family tucked away in the corner of a community, just going throughout daily life.

He sees the woman who is longing and praying for her brothers to come back to the Lord.

He sees the 4 little boys sitting up against the wall looking across the street wondering what the heck these gringos are doing here. God drew my attention to them, so I sat and played with them and prayed over them and had a little conversation through  some “Spanglish” as my team shared the gospel with a group of men across the street.

He sees me and knows I’m missing “my kids” back home, so He gives me a sweet babe to hold and love, or children to talk to and play with at each place we go to.

He sees and knows our hearts desire friend, and when our desires line up with His desires for us, he meets them.

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

He knows I love kids, and he loves kids too right? He calls each one of them to himself(Luke 18:16) and he calls us to love the widows and the orphans.

At least twice each week this month I’ve held a child in my arms and got to show them love.

GOD SEES ME

GOD SEES YOU

AND GOD SEES EACH AND EVERY PERSON

This month is all squad month, we have been working with a ministry here in the Dominican Republic called Mission of Hope.  Their Mission is to bring “hope to every man, woman, and child” through Church Advancement, Nutrition, Education, and Medical care In the DR and in Haiti.  They have been in Haiti for many years, and just began here a few years ago. We have been working alongside just a few of the many pastors MOH partners with, going throughout the communities helping build relationships and sharing the gospel. Some weeks in a completely Haitian community, and another week in a Dominican community. Some days we go to specific houses and other days we talk with whoever is willing as we walk throughout the villages. Sometimes Ive found my self in conversation and sharing the gospel, and other times I’ve found myself sitting on the ground holding a baby or playing with the kids, praying over them as I do. We have also been teaching English at a Haitian school once a week which has been so fun!!  We’ve had a handful of translators with us, who speak 4 different languages(woah! So cool!), it has been so cool getting to know them and their stories as we have spent most days with them as they translate for us wether it be Haitian Creole or Spanish.

We leave here in just a few days to head to debrief, as we say goodbye to our amazing alumni squad leaders, rest and learn. And then the squad will be off to Panama! Our teams will split off at the airport and go our separate ways to wherever we feel the Lord leading us to, as we do not have a host while in Panama.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

For the new believers, that they would continue to follow after the Lord and stay strong

For our squad as we enter into the unknown of what this next month holds, that we would really trust the Lord and His direction.

For my team, Team Candor, as we walk this journey together in the middle months.

As always, thanks for following along! It really means a lot!

                                            Steph

  1. Hi Steph! I love this, the God Who Sees! Yes, it always brings me such great joy to think about how much He loves us and that He truly sees us in everything. It sounds like you’ve had a sweet month in the Dominican. I’m sure lots of lives have been changed, including yours! The Lord is so GOOD to see your longing heart for the children and He has given you many to hold and play with along the way! Love you so much Steph! Praying always!

  2. Beautifully said! Such a joy to hear about you all being in those places, seeing the people as the Father sees them, and allowing yourselves to serve as His hands and feet to those communities! We are continuing to pray for the teams.
